About the Gathering:
NYC Mothers who have been directly impacted by the ongoing so-called “youth gang” & so-called “illegal immigrant”
ICE Raids, have begun connecting with other Mothers who have lost their loved ones due to terrorist police violence and are now working together to build a mutual support and organizing network.
This May 13th gathering will bring both the above-mentioned families and social justice community activists together in order to create a structurally coordinated response to the current police enforced xenophobia, islamophobia, and gentrification in New York City.
Many of the families who will speak at this conference have either been personally impacted by the prison industrial complex and/or are directly impacted by racist police corruption, unaccountability, violence, brutality & murder in our financially disadvantaged and oppressed Black & Brown communities.
Members from Mothers For Justice, Parents Against Police Brutality and The Alliance of Families for Justice will be leading in this process on Saturday in order for the mothers themselves to meet each other, network, create and provide a wish list to all of the various social justice advocates & organizations who will be in attendance.
Additionally, Mothers from New Jersey who have lost loved ones from police violence and the Mothers whose loved
ones still remain captured or exiled as U.S. government Political Prisoners & POW’S will also be in attendance as well.
